After a hiatus - training and blogging - my winter program has started again. My last blog post was in May and my last run in July. I completed The Gherkins annual 100km race across the south Downs in mid-July. The team finished in 14 hrs 48 mins, just under an hour quicker than last year. We did lose one team member though. Sark's knee broke half-way, so we only finished as a non-qualifying team of 3. After that I made the decision to take a rest and seek medical advice on my knee which had been swelling and giving trouble. Good news is, after x-rays, MRIs, docs and physios, I was given the all clear last week. It took three months though so I have added about 5kg in weight which seems to sitting mainly around my waist. I turned 40 in Sept and am now looking forward to a winter of early morning runs around north London. See you out there. Next race target is Tring to Town in February.
